I am not a one subject blogger. It should come as no surprise then to find out that I am not a one subject blog fan either :-) I read blogs about homeschooling, decorating, flea market shopping, antiques, cooking, family, theology, genealogy, and everything in between. Sorry, but I just find it too difficult to be a one-blogger kind of woman...LOL.
My husband has no use for a favorites folder or a feed reader. I, on the other hand, would be lost without them. Mike figured if he needs to find something again, he'll just google it. I, however, have lost too many favorite blog listings to trust google's search engine with such an important task. I like knowing where to find my favorite blogs and am very thankful for my RSS feed. I couldn't live without it! Well, I probably could.... but you get the picture.
Last July I added a new feature to my blog called Friend in Focus. I meant to make it a weekly or bi-monthly thing but I never seem to do well with "plans" so I add a friend when I remember something along the lines of "Oh, wow, it's been a few weeks months since I did a blog focus and should really think about getting one done do one today!" And, then I hurry up and go through my ever growing feed list and make a post about a friend.
Today I am going to focus on Tongue in Cheek and Tongue in Cheek Antiques.
Corey is an American who has lived in France for 20 years. Her husband is French and after meeting in a club in San Francisco they fell in love, were married, and now live in the South of France. Ooh la la!! How romantic!!
Corey has been featured in several magazines and her blog is mostly a photo diary of anything from French flea markets to recipes to family to fighting/surviving cancer to decorating to................... I ♥ that!!
Besides the main everyday blog of Tongue in Cheek, there is also Tongue in Cheek Antiques where you can buy stuff that Corey has for sale. I especially ♥ that, too :-D Her photos have given me great inspiration for decorating in my favorite style (French Country, of course) and its just a peaceful blog to sit and relax while stalking surfing through.
Please take a look at Corey's blogs and leave her a comment. I know she'd appreciate it!
I hope you like the links this week!! If you have an 125X125 button (approximately) and you'd like me to link to you in the future on one of my focus posts, just send me an email at salmander_son@yahoo.com. I usually just pick a favorite out of my feed reader but if you'd like to boost your traffic a bit and get featured, then why not send me a note (only if you are family friendly, please)?!

For my blog Friend in Focus category this week, I thought it would be nice to focus on a blog that solely focuses on showcasing other blogs on a daily basis!! My link this week is Today's Creative Blog. Kim works hard to bring you a new and creative blog every.single.day! Whew... she's my hero! I mean, I'm lucky to remember to add a new friend in focus once a month :-)
I've been following Today's Creative Blog for well over a year through my RSS feed. I get so many ideas for crafts, decorating, and sewing because of all the blogs she features. I wouldn't know about many of these great blogs if Kim wasn't so generous in her time and intentional focus on creativity. If you haven't been to Kim's blog, click on the button below and GO THERE NOW!! Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed!

Two or three weeks ago I had a post written focusing on two of my blogging friends: Amy at Milk and Cookies and Nikowa at Knowledge House Academy. Well, for some crazy reason I have yet to figure out, that greatly written post just disappeared. I hit publish and it flew into the nether regions of the internet, never to be seen again. Hmmm, at least I hope I don't see it again. For one, I can't remember everything I wrote in it, and two, if I'm going through the trouble of typing all this up again, I rather it just stay lost. I'll feel less like a mental case that way :-)
The funny thing, though is that my button for Nikowa's blog disappearred, too. I felt a little bit like Freaky Friday had invaded the Twilight Zone of my blog. I mean the code was there... just like the code on her blog... but I only got a nice image saying my image was no longer available. Can you understand why I might feel a bit mental?!
Anyway, I have finally gotten around to removing the "your image is not here" image and have a few minutes to sit down and rewrite my post telling you why you need to visit Amy. So, here goes:
Amy Stults is a homeschooling mama to one little boy. She blogs at Milk and Cookies, and is co-founder of Heart of the Matter Online and A Woman Inspired Ministries.
Amy and I have a love of family history in common. She is related to several famous people such as President Teddy Roosevelt and General Robert E. Lee. She enjoys looking back as far as she can to find her relatives. I do, too, but something tells me that Amy has found more names in her list than I have! I better get looking again.
Amy has a great blog, where she talks about raising an only child, shows you pictures of her crafts/journals, and shares recipes to boot. Plus, yesterday was Amy's birthday and Darcy hijacked her blog for a really cool post! Hop on over to Milk and Cookies and enjoy the tour!
BTW, I will be featuring Nikowa again as soon as I figure out what happened to her button.
Who are your favorite blog friends in focus this weekend? Why not take a moment and do a special post to let them know you care! Be blessed!

Topic: Friends in Focus
This week I'm tuning in to my creative decorating side and focusing on a few of those blogging friends for my sidebar link up. I have been following both Kimba and the Nester's blogs online for about a year and always find something great to read! I love Nester's etsy shop and have a beautiful tassle of hers hanging on my lamp. I don't get to comment on blogs much anymore due to time constraints, but if I did I'd probably be posting comments with these two daily :-)
Here is a little bit about each of them:
Kimba: You will find Kimba blogging at A Soft Place to Land and she is a lovely stay at home mom! Her house is just as lovely and she shares all she knows in her posts...from spraypainting, to decorating cheaply/uniquely, and more. She even has a do it yourself meme going on all this summer! Check out Kimba at her blog A Soft Place To Land http://asoftplacetoland-kimba.blogspot.com/ or follow Kimba on twitter @KimbaASPTL
The Nester: I can't remember exactly when I started reading The Nester or how I came to her page but I'm so glad I found her. She has great posts up about decorating your home without going in to debt to do it, window mistreatments, and shopping your house for new to that spot decorating! I love it!! The stuff on her blog makes me actually think "I can do that" instead of "I wouldn't try it if you paid me." Oh, and she lives here in NC and homeschools, too. I want to meet her... but I promise I won't start stalking... lol.. Check out The Nester at her blog The Nesting Place http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/ or follow her on twitter @thenester
I hope you like the links this week!! If you have an 125X125 button (approximately) and you'd like me to link to you in the future on one of my focus posts, just send me an email at salmander_son@yahoo.com

Friends in Focus ~ July 21, 2009
Topic: Friends in Focus
I added a new feature to my sidebar last week. It is called Friends in Focus and basically all that means is that I will be changing up my left hand sidebar link buttons pretty regularly. I have so many blogging friends that I would love to focus on all at once but my page would go into overload if I posted that many buttons! The great thing about doing a planned focus is that I can showcase 2 or 3 of the blogs/websites I love each week (hopefully) and maybe give those places some added new visitors, as well as giving my regular readers something new and interesting to look forward to on a pretty steady basis.
This week I thought I would do a photography link session because it is something I have really been trying hard to improve upon. I also thought it might be nice when I change the buttons if I do a short blog post introducing the sites and telling a bit about why I linked to them -- sorry I missed doing that last week. Anyway, the links for this week go to:
Sprittibee: Who doesn't know Sprittibee on the web? I doubt there are many folks who haven't heard the name!! Sprittibee has a great blog that covers homeschooling, and photography, among other things... two of my favorite subjects!! You can find Heather at her main blog http://sbees.blogspot.com/ or follow her on twitter @sprittibee.
iHeartFaces: If you have never been to this website, then you MUST go!! iHeartFaces has weekly photo challenges and whether you are a professional or someone like me who is just looking for tips on how to take photos better, then you will appreciate this website. The website was started by Angie and Amy, two friends who met in the blogosphere. The website is http://www.iheartfaces.blogspot.com/ or you can follow them on twitter @iHeartFaces.
My Home Sweet Home: Dawn not only has great tips on taking photographs but she is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. This girl knows her stuff!! She is also a fellow homeschooler (WOO HOO) so I read her stuff through my feed reader as many chances as I can get! You can vist Dawn at her homepage http://myhomesweethomeonline.net/ and on twitter @DawnMHSH.
I hope you like the links this week!! I will definitely be doing more theme weeks like this photographer one on my friends in focus links again. If you have an 125X125 button (approximately) and you'd like me to link to you in the future on one of my focus posts, just send me an email at salmander_son@yahoo.com
Have a blessed week!
